New vanillagalleries.com and new blog!

Hello all blogger followers, I'm afraid we have jumped ship and moved over to wordpress. Sorry!

However, the new site looks a lot nicer and has plenty of triangles, and the new blog should be updated on a much more regular basis!

See you there!

Hello, we just want to say a big thank you to everyone who made it to the exhibitions! We had a great turnout and the general response to our shows was great! If you couldn't make it, here are some photos!

We are taking a few days off for a breather and to reflect on the last couple of months. But we shall soon be on the pursuit of our next event, so hopefully we will be somewhere, soon!

For anyone who is new to Vanilla Galleries, this is where to find us on the internet;

The second exhibition of 'Bang / Tidy' is well and truly on! For the next couple of weeks you can come and see what the Vanilla galleries artists have been up to over the last few months. Paintings, sculptures, video and installations. We're not going to be in the space forever, so come and say hello!

Same place, same times!

Nick has been very hard at work collecting all our drawings together and sweating in the print workshop to produce the stylish new must have accessory of the year... the Vanilla Galleries Exhibition catalogue!

Catalogues come in a range of colours, but only one size. There is only a limited number of these special edition screen prints available so good luck getting your hands on one.

Making an impression

Today me and Gino have been at the space try and get the sign sorted. We feel there is a need to embrace our surroundings, so it needs to be something, big, bold and brash! Our favourite idea so far is some nice big woodcut letters hanging above the window, but we'll have to see!

So far we have only left these hastily spray painted notices announcing our arrival. Granted, they are not the most visually appealing, but at least people know we are there!

Proper signage soon, promise!

Dear readers. We have recently got the keys off the landlord and things are set for our future exhibition. We had a meeting today about it and one main thing that we cleared up was the title of the first exhibition. The exhibition is going to be made up of pieces specific to the shops space, thats the plan anyway. The title, after several rounds of voting and 3 pages of possible titles to choose from, we decided to name our first exhibition, Bang Tidy.
The photos are of the inside of the space and what we have to work with. More information soon as there lots going on this week. The last is our temporary poster that we put up in the window.

Hello there. We are a small collective made up of artists working in many different medias based in Leicestershire. We aim to put on many exhibitions hoping to contribute to different discussions in art. If you were wondering about the title image thats because its a space recently acquired by us in Leicesters Malcom Arcade were we intend to hold exhibitions and other events. Although the space is not ready yet we hope to get things rolling on it soon.

The purpose of this blog is really to document past events as well keep you up to date with future projects.

We have a website where you can find out more information about our collective at www.vanillagalleries.com
